Wintertime

When winter winds prevail

Sky’s filled with ice and hail

Bitter biting cold air blast

Ice pellets whizzing past

Jack Frost has laid a claim

And winter is its name

Freezing draft from the north

Winter comes marching forth

Dark night sky, crystal stars

Snow-built drifts’ long white scars

Icicles hang and grow

Reaching for ground below

Ice-bound trees fill with lace

Sparkling in sun’s bright face

In winter crystals hang

Chandelier, serpent fang

Everlasting it seems

Our hope’s in springtime dreams.
